 Welcome to Alastair and Jane.

 On Wednesday 31st August there was a Circuit Welcome Service for the Rev Alastair Bolt and Mrs Jane Bolt. The service was led by Rev Julyan Drew (Circuit Superintendent) and the Sermon was given by Rev Steven Wild (Chair of the Cornwall District).
 
 

 

 

 Farewell service for Bob and Shirley.

   The West Penwith Circuit held a farewell service for Rev Bob Senior and Mrs Shirley Senior on Sunday 31st July at Chapel Street.  Not only were there representatives from the circuit churches but also present were representatives from Churches Together in Penzance Area and from Shekinah and Light and Life, and many others from the community.  The service led by Bob included a mixture of styles with Mark Grove and the band and Tim Hosking on the organ, with drama by Paul and Maureen Symons and The Bible passage Romans 12: 1-8 read by Jacky Meyers from Madron.  Steven Crossman, senior circuit steward, presented Bob with a gift on behalf of the circuit churches and Bronwyn Rowland, circuit steward, presented Shirley with a bouquet.  Bob’s challenging sermon entitled Consecrate your lives (Joshua 3: 1-17 had three points, Stand on the promises of God, trust in his presence and prepare yourself.
   Bob with Rev Julian Drew, Rev Roger Greene and Rev Liz Greene led the congregation in the Lord’s Supper.

The offering £345.31 will be given to St Julia’s Hospice.

It was a wonderful evening and people enjoyed fellowship afterwards over some light refreshment.
 

 
 

 Holiday Club 2011

 This years  Holiday Club ran for three days in July, and revisited Rockies Plaice with a visit from Professor Wordsmith who explained three very important words.  Bible Stories were told through drama, Lego, craft and DVD with songs and memory verses.  There was a daily challenge plus the essential holiday club joke spot and games.  Lots of fun for the 5 to 11 year olds.

 Church Anniversary

 

On Sunday 10th July the Church Anniversary Services at 9.30 am and 11 am were both led Bob Senior.  This was followed by a Church Family lunch of  pasties or salad. The lunch was attended by around 80 people.from both congregations and some guests.   It was announce during the lunch that from the collections today a sum of £500 was raised which will be sent to the east Africa famine relief. A fairwell gift was also presented to Bob and Shirley

This was a very successful,happy and exciting event-packed day.

Many thanks to all the helpers and volunteers for all their sterling work throughout the day. 

 

 

 

 

 

On the 26th June the two congregations joined together for an

open air service on the forecourt.

The all age service was led by Rev Bob Senior and the topic was

 'The Fruits Of The Spirit'.

 

ON SUNDAY 26th JUNE "PIRATES ON THE PROM"

Sunday Live & Godzone  joined the world record attempt for the number of people dressed up as a pirate. This took place on the Penzance promenade.

The record attempt was successful with a total of 8,734 pirates.
